17 MINUTES OF CYBER FAME…

…. OR HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS.

I was interviewed (again) by Cristopher Lydon of Radio Open Source a few days back. I would like to thank him for the opportunity for allowing me to rant. Although I had two pages of notes prepared in my attempt to sound sensible, I forgot to refer to them and instead spoke impromptu. The result are answers filled with umms, uhhs, long pauses and repeating the word ‘basically’ about a few hundred times during the course of the interview.

You can hear me sounding off here.

    “suspended president”
“Microsoft… whole system is full of bugs”
    “bookends”
    “fox news… head examined”

entertaining no doubt yet the truth behind the face value of the words themselves is so undeniably painful for any Pakistani…

    Omer,
following the comment above I have to say that this was a most engaging interview - the pauses and the umms somehow fitted into the ‘rant’ :)

Of course, the issues that you touched upon were serious and made one a little more depressed but your little satirical insertions provided much needed relief

Well done for being so forthright and lucid…

    cheers, RR

Omer, wonderful interview - thank you - I learned so much, truly. So heartfelt. Your “empire” quote at the end of the interview was quite something. If you ever can’t think of anything to post - not likely with you! - post that quote - I would love a “copy.”

As for my country’s upcoming “corporate” elections - oh my, time will tell. Whoever it is - it has to be an improvement - its not possible for us to elect someone worse than g.w.

Sounded like a somewhat toned down version of The Olive Ream at the outset, but more than made up for that towards the end… :)
